Who is Dave?
DaveOnCSharp.com content is produced by me, David Azzopardi. I design and create software on a daily basis and I currently have around eight years of programming experience behind me.
I started my career working as a junior software developer for a small ISP, but quickly moved on to a small software house which developed custom solutions mostly for the local market at the time. I used to work with Visual Basic 6 back then because that’s what this company worked with. We developed many custom solutions for a number of different clients, large and small, but after a while the limitations of VB6 were becoming all but too apparent so I decided to take a course in C++.
I instantly fell in love with the power of C++ – it was a huge jump from VB6 that’s for sure. After a while experimenting with C++, I decided to try out C#, since I had read that it combined most of the power of C++ with the ease of use of VB. I then purchased a few Microsoft.NET books and a few on C# and also VB.Net and I started learning the languages.
The company I was working with at that time was not using Microsoft.NET technologies yet, and since I had really fallen for C#, I decided it was time to move on again. That’s when I found myself working at GFI Software as a C# developer.
I hope that’s given you a glimpse of who Dave is. If you are a developer and want to keep in touch you can contact me through my Contact page.
